I decided to develop Homework Help
Page.com because children are getting more homework.
Some of the homework requires additional resources that
can set the stage for a battle between the student, the work and the
parent.
When I built this web site my children were in elementary and middle school.
I spent a lot of time trying to
help the kids figure out their homework when they needed help.
There are days when you
simply
run out of energy trying to keep up with the demands of
homework and other aspects of family life. I've tried other homework
help sites and found many of them to be time consuming and cumbersome.
In my profession, I've learned that it takes an extensive
amount of time to locate useful information. This can be a significant deterrent for
parents and students interested in using the Internet. The proliferation of search engines and index sites has
made surfing the web time consuming and difficult to navigate. For the Internet to be worthwhile, it
needs to produce pertinent information with one or two mouse clicks.
As a Training Consultant, I spend a great deal of time using the Internet.
As a parent, I
decided to take the same skills and develop a web site for people who
want to:
-
SAVE TIME SEARCHING THE INTERNET
-
FIND PERTINENT INFORMATION FAST!
-
ACCESS MATERIAL THAT IS RELEVANT
-
HELP THEIR CHILD BECOME MORE
EFFECTIVE
Make no
mistake, despite my lengthy Internet usage, this web site was
designed to be an efficient and effective use of your time. All of the links
are relevant and updated
regularly. In addition, I've added subject-specific search engines from
About.com that focus on world cultures, religions, and disabilities to save you time and narrow your
search.
Homework Help
Page
contains hundreds of links to thousands of web pages to help you with math,
science, history, geography, language, art and literature. In addition, our
Afro-American
Links page has one of the largest collections of "black
oriented" web sites on the Internet, with information on black
history, culture, health & fitness, current events, culture, investing and entertainment. We've also compiled a
collection of links with resources for teachers and
educators.
There are a number of Internet-based homework help
sites. Many of them have been set up or at least screened by educators,
librarians or other professionals who understand the kind of help children need.
Most of the homework-specific links on this site have been deemed "content
appropriate" for children. In addition, we have
other links designed to help college students and adult learners with their
research papers and projects.
I want to make
Homework Help
Page.com
work for you. If you're a
new user, please take the time to become familiar with the various
links and explore the sites. If you're a regular user, continue to visit
and by all means, tell a friend about this site. You can
e-mail me
with
suggestions and feedback.
